Product Introduction
Flame retardancy comes in two forms: applied as a finish, or built into the fibre. This yarn is the second kind. Because the FR mechanism sits inside both fibre components rather than in a surface treatment, protection is not progressively lost through laundering or abrasion, and the fabric does not depend on the durability of a coating.
The blend pairs FR viscose, which contributes absorbency and comfort directly against the skin, with FR acrylic, which supplies bulk, resilience and wear resistance. At Ne 20s the result is a strong coarse yarn well matched to protective workwear and contract furnishing weights.
Key Advantages
Inherent FR survives washing. Topical FR finishes are depleted by washing and can be removed by certain detergents, which is why industrial laundries often test garments after every fifty cycles. Because this yarn is FR throughout its cross-section, protection remains after repeated laundering.
Zero thin places per 1,000 m at Ne 20s. Protective fabrics are usually woven densely, which raises warp tension. Zero thin places removes the weak points where high tension breaks ends, keeping loom efficiency predictable in construction-critical work.
320 cN strength from the acrylic fraction. FR acrylic contributes resilience and toughness that FR viscose alone lacks, giving a count suitable for protective outer fabrics rather than only for linings and barrier layers.
Comfort balanced with protection. FR viscose retains normal viscose absorbency, unlike aramid and other high-performance fibres that can be uncomfortable next to the skin. The blend is therefore usable in garments worn for full shifts.
Recommended Applications
Protective & industrial workwear — Workwear for petrochemical, power, metallurgy and welding operations, emergency response garments and industrial coveralls.
Contract & transport textiles — Flame-retardant curtains and upholstery for hotels, ships, rail carriages and public assembly spaces where FR compliance is mandatory.
