Product Introduction

Above Ne 50s most cellulosic yarns trade strength for fineness, and the customer pays for it downstream in breakage stopped looms and higher fabric waste. This Ne 60s lyocell holds an evenness of CV 10.4% at 241 cN single-end strength — figures that sit far below what this count usually delivers — which is the reason it can be used for fine warp rather than only for filling.

Lyocell contributes two properties that a viscose yarn of the same count cannot: higher intrinsic fibre strength, and a round filament cross-section that reflects light rather than scattering it. Together they give the silk-like lustre and dry hand buyers specify for lightweight dresses and linings without the fabric needing a surface finish to fake it.

Key Advantages

Evenness CV 10.4% at Ne 60s. Evenness and count are in tension: the finer the yarn, the fewer fibres in the cross-section and the harder it is to hold mass variation down. Delivering 10.4% at this count is what keeps thick places at 22 per 1,000 m and prevents the periodic streaks that ruin lightweight piece-dyed fabric.

241 cN permits warp use. Fine lyocell normally has to be relegated to weft or knit programmes because warp tension exceeds what the yarn tolerates. At this strength it can be warped directly, which opens up fine plain-weave and voile constructions that otherwise require filament yarns.

Higher nep count, expected at this count. Neps at 48 per 1,000 m are typical of Ne 60s cellulosic yarns and are visible mainly in pale shades and whites. Where pale shades are planned we recommend evaluating a lab-dip before bulk; deep shades are unaffected in practice.

Cellulosic comfort with genuine drape. Lyocell absorbs moisture more readily than cotton and releases it quickly, giving the cool contact sensation that matters in warm-climate apparel, while its higher modulus means the fabric hangs cleanly rather than clinging.

Recommended Applications

Lightweight apparel — Fine shirting, silk-handle summer dresses, camisoles and slips, lightweight scarves and fine-gauge knit tops.

Linings & premium bedding — Rayon-free linings for tailored garments, and high-thread-count bedding where drape and a cool hand are the selling points.
