Product Introduction
This yarn trades appearance for survival. Adding 25% nylon to a viscose wrap and putting a filament core underneath roughly triples abrasion life compared with pure viscose, at the cost of evenness: CV 15.1% with 89 thick places and 102 neps per 1,000 m, all published here because they are material to selecting this product.
It is not a yarn for fine pale fabrics. It is for trousers, workwear, uniforms and contract upholstery where the garment fails by wearing through before it fails by looking uneven.
Key Advantages
Nylon fraction changes the failure mode. Viscose abrades and pills; nylon resists both. At 25% nylon the blended wrap protects itself mechanically, so the yarn survives repeated abrasion cycles that would break down a comparable pure viscose construction.
260.4 cN from core plus nylon. Filament core and nylon together give this count a strength figure normally associated with much coarser yarns. That combination is what makes it usable in bottom-weight constructions where a viscose yarn would be marginal.
Published evenness figures are above range. Evenness CV 15.1% and 102 neps per 1,000 m are outside the range of our fine yarns and outside what most pale-shade programmes can accept. Choose this yarn for dark shades, piece-dyed utility fabrics or printed grounds where surface irregularity is masked.
Lower cost per wearing hour. Although unit yarn cost is above a simple viscose equivalent, garment service life is materially longer, which is why this construction is specified for uniforms and contract textiles on a cost-of-ownership basis.
Recommended Applications
Hard-wearing apparel — Utility trousers, workwear trouserings, uniforms, jacket shells and heavily-used travel garments.
Contract & home textiles — High-frequency-use upholstery, cushion covers and other contract furnishings where abrasion cycles dominate specification.
