Product Introduction
This fabric pairs two things rarely combined at this price: a Ne 60s compact-siro warp yarn and a 180×108 thread count. The warp is what makes the density possible — compact-siro spinning traps protruding fibres between two strands, so the yarn passes the reed and healds and survives warp tension at a count where ordinary ring-spun viscose would generate excessive fly and stops.
The sateen structure places long floats on the fabric face, which is what produces lustre. That lustre only appears if the yarn underneath is even: any irregularity in high-density sateen shows as shade variation once dyed. This is why the construction is specified together with the compact-siro warp rather than separately.
Key Advantages
180×108 density gives genuine sateen coverage. Sateen lustre depends on thread count: with insufficient picks the float structure cannot cover the interlacing points and the surface looks like a twill. At 108 picks per inch the face closes up and reflects light directionally.
Compact-siro warp reduces sizing and lint. Lower hairiness means less size is needed for weaving and less lint is generated during processing. In practical terms this reduces the tendency towards the white specks and shading that follow sloughed size in dyeing.
65-inch width protects cutting yield. A wider greige gives markers room to nest pattern pieces efficiently. Compared with standard 160 cm material it materially reduces truncation waste on larger panels such as dress fronts and bedding centre panels.
Supplied in greige for full finishing control. Because the fabric arrives unfinished, you control dyeing, printing and finishing rather than inheriting someone else’s finishing decisions — which is the usual reason for buying greige rather than finished cloth.
