Product Introduction
A balanced construction — Ne 60s in both directions at 90×88 — makes this a stable base rather than a specialised one. Because warp and weft are equivalent, shrinkage is even in both directions, which removes the skew and bow problems that follow from unbalanced constructions during finishing.
Fine denier on both axes and an even, close structure is exactly what a fine base requires. This fabric is specified most often for digital printing and for silk-handle finishes, where any surface irregularity would otherwise read through.
Key Advantages
Balanced warp and weft for dimensional stability. Symmetric construction means the fabric relaxes evenly during scouring and drying. That predictability is what allows finishing to be run at normal speed without the corrective stenter work that unbalanced fabrics demand.
Fine Ne 60s count gives a smooth print surface. Print definition is limited by surface roughness at the scale of the ink droplet. A fine, even base keeps edges sharp, which is why plain-weave Ne 60s rather than a coarser count is used for high-resolution digital printing.
65-inch width supports wide-format production. Industrial digital printers and standard finishing ranges handle widths above 160 cm, so the extra inches are usable rather than trimmed away, improving yield per metre of the printing asset.
Greige form allows the finish to be chosen later. The same fabric can be reactive printed, piece dyed, mercerised for lustre or sand-washed for a matte peach-skin hand. Buying greige keeps those options open until the programme is finalised.
Recommended Applications
Printed & dyed apparel — Silk-handle shirting, flowing dresses, printed blouses, sun-protection overshirts, light casual trousers and fine layering pieces.
Lightweight home textiles — Printed bedding, lightweight curtains and soft decorative accessories where drape matters more than weight.
