Product Introduction
Three different inputs are doing three different jobs in this cloth. Ramie gives the dry, crisp, slightly irregular surface associated with linen and moves moisture quickly. Lyocell softens that harshness so the fabric can be worn against the skin. And a 120D viscose filament in the weft adds lustre, weight and the continuous filament drape that short-staple yarns cannot produce.
At 62×75 the balance is deliberately weft-heavy, which is unusual and purposeful: it lets the filament weft dominate the surface while the staple-blend warp holds the structure together.
Key Advantages
Ramie delivers genuine cool touch. Ramie fibre has high moisture absorption and release plus natural stiffness, giving the crisp, cool contact hand that buyers want in warm-climate shirting. Unlike linen it does not soften out completely with repeated washing.
Lyocell removes the prickle factor. Traditional ramie and linen fabrics can feel prickly because of coarse fibre ends at the surface. Blending 55% lyocell into the warp significantly reduces that harshness without dulling the characteristic dry texture.
120D filament weft adds lustre and weight. Filament yarn has no protruding fibre ends, so it reflects light evenly. Using it in the weft gives the fabric a measured sheen and extra weight that pure staple constructions cannot reach at this density.
69-inch width maximises cutting efficiency. The widest greige we produce at 175 cm gives markers maximum freedom on large panels, and suits home furnishing items such as curtain drops where drops may need to run without joins.
Recommended Applications
Warm-climate apparel — Lightweight casual shirting, relaxed summer dresses, sun-protection overshirts, wide-leg trousers and unstructured layering pieces.
Home & decorative textiles — Natural-look curtains with lustre, upholstery face cloth, cushions and lifestyle interior accessories.
