Product Introduction
Ne 30s at 1,550 TPM S-twist is the mid-count version of our high-twist viscose programme. Compared with the Ne 24s version it is finer and softer; compared with Ne 40s and above it is stronger and smoother, holding 181.1 cN single-end strength at CV 11.92% with a single thin place per 1,000 m.
The S direction means it beds with other S-twist yarns in the same fabric. Buyers building a set of yarns from this series should specify direction consistently, because mixing twist directions unintentionally is one of the more common causes of inconsistent handle between production lots.
Key Advantages
Balanced strength and twist at Ne 30s. Twisting to 1,550 TPM costs strength, but starting from Ne 30s rather than a finer count keeps a usable 181.1 cN. This permits standard weaving tension and avoids the reduced loom speed required by our finer high-twist products.
Evenness CV 11.92% after twisting. Twisted yarn normally drifts above 13% evenness at this count. Holding it near 12% keeps the fabric surface uniform, which matters because crepe and dry-hand constructions are usually piece-dyed rather than printed.
Consistent S-twist for reproducible handle. Twist direction is fixed per production order and cannot be changed afterwards. Specifying it explicitly up front prevents the variation in handle and drape that arises when direction is left to chance.
Wash-and-wear behaviour without resin. The shape recovery and dry handle come from twist, not from finishing chemistry. In markets where formaldehyde-releasing resins are restricted, this is one of the few routes to a low-crease viscose fabric.
Recommended Applications
Dry-hand wovens — Summer and trans-seasonal shirting, dry-touch trousers, light jackets and structured overshirts where crease recovery matters.
Knitwear — Fine to mid-gauge knit tops and cardigans needing a crisp handle rather than the soft collapse of standard viscose.
