Product Introduction
At 1,350 TPM this yarn sits below the aggressive twist used for full crepe and above standard weaving twist. It keeps 258.7 cN of single-end strength — around 12% more than our 1,550 TPM version — while still giving the crisp handle and reduced pilling that justify twisting at all.
This is the specification we suggest when a buyer wants visible surface texture without committing to the full dry crepe hand, or when the fabric will be given a heavy wet finish that would flatten a softer yarn.
Key Advantages
258.7 cN leaves headroom for dense constructions. Higher retained strength means the yarn tolerates fabric constructions with high thread counts, where warp tension at the reed is materially above average. This widens the range of weaves available compared with the 1,550 TPM option.
Evenness CV 10.78% despite high twist Input. Twisting to this level tends to migrate irregularities towards the yarn surface. Keeping evenness under 11% keeps the fabric face free of the fine streaks that become obvious after piece dyeing.
Dry touch that survives finishing. The crisp hand is structural. It survives scouring, dyeing and softening, unlike exploratory finishes that wash off after the first domestic laundering.
Pilling performance without elastane. For programmes that cannot use elastane or resin finishes, twist is one of the few mechanisms available to raise pilling resistance; at this level it is normally enough to meet grade 3-4 in standard pilling box testing on knit constructions.
