Product Introduction
The 65/35 polyester-viscose ratio has stayed standard for half a century because it balances two competing requirements. Polyester delivers crease recovery, dimensional stability and abrasion life; viscose delivers absorbency, reduces static build-up and keeps the fabric from feeling like plastic against the skin.
At 108×62 this is a dense construction by uniform fabric standards. Density is what gives the cloth its wind resistance and durability, and it is the reason this base is specified for garments laundered industrially dozens of times a year.
Key Advantages
108×62 density for durability in service. Thread count determines how well a fabric resists abrasion at seams and cuffs, where uniform garments fail first. Constructions below roughly 100 ends per inch show significantly shorter service life in industrial laundering.
65/35 ratio balances easy care with comfort. Higher polyester content improves crease recovery but makes the fabric uncomfortably warm and static-prone. At 65/35 the viscose fraction keeps enough moisture absorbency for all-day wear while still delivering genuine easy-care performance.
67-inch width improves uniform cutting efficiency. Uniform patterns are large and repetitive, so width directly influences marker efficiency. The extra inches reduce per-garment consumption on body panels and sleeves, where the costs accumulate over thousands of pieces.
Takes functional finishes well. The virgin greige accepts soil-release, antistatic, water-repellent and crease-resist finishes on standard ranges, allowing one base fabric to serve several different job roles and specifications.
Recommended Applications
Uniforms & workwear — Corporate workwear, administrative uniforms, occupational shirting, trouserings, medical and catering garments.
Everyday & institutional — School uniforms, durable casual outerwear, utility trousers and outdoor wind-resistant shells after appropriate finishing.
