Product Introduction
Combining cotton and viscose in the same direction rather than alternating them between warp and weft is what gives this cloth its particular character: the cotton contributes structural body and dry touch, the viscose contributes drape and lustre, and because both fibres are present in each yarn the hand is uniform across the width rather than directional.
At 68×60 the construction is open enough to keep the fabric light for spring and summer weights while remaining stable enough for garment production. Both fibres are cellulosic, so the piece can be dyed on a single standard reactive route.
Key Advantages
Both fibres in both directions. Where one fibre is used in the warp and another in the weft, the fabric behaves differently in each direction and can skew during finishing. Combining Ne 40s cotton and viscose in each yarn avoids that anisotropy and produces even, predictable shrinkage.
Body from cotton, drape from viscose. Pure viscose fabric hangs beautifully but can feel limp and clammy; pure cotton has structure but less fluidity. The combination delivers neither extreme, which is what most apparel programmes actually need.
Single cellulosic dye route. Both components dye with reactive and direct dyestuffs under one recipe, so no sequential two-stage dyeing and no compromise between fibre coverage requirements is needed, unlike polyester blends.
63-inch practical working width. Standard finishing ranges are set up for 160 cm goods, so this width avoids the handling penalties that come with either narrower cloth or widths exceeding the range.
Recommended Applications
Spring & summer apparel — Lightweight casual shirting, casual dresses, airy trousers, sun-protection overshirts and fine base-layer woven tops.
Home & next-to-skin fabrics — Bedding, loungewear and underwear fabrics calling for soft hand plus breathability.
