Product Introduction
Putting 30% long-staple cotton into a viscose yarn is a way of buying back two properties viscose lacks outright: abrasion resistance and a dry, non-clammy hand. The result at Ne 40s is a fine-count yarn with the drape of viscose but a significantly more durable surface — 355 cN single-end strength, evenness CV 10.8% and no thin places recorded in the test length.
The AA grade applies to our internal classification for evenness and nep performance, and is only assigned where both indicators fall within the tighter band across consecutive production lots.
Key Advantages
Zero thin places at a fine count. Blended yarns normally lose regularity as count rises because the two fibres draft differently. Zero thin places at Ne 40s indicates the blend is being drafted consistently, which removes the main cause of fine-count warp stoppages.
Long-staple cotton supplies the wear resistance. Viscose abrades relatively quickly and tends to pill in knit constructions. The 30% long-staple cotton fraction anchors the yarn surface, reducing pilling formation and improving the wash durability of the finished fabric.
Viscose supplies drape and moisture transport. The majority viscose component holds residual moisture and has low bending stiffness, giving the fluid drape and higher moisture absorption that make the fabric comfortable against the skin in warm climates.
Single dye class simplifies finishing. Both fibres are cellulosic, so the fabric can be dyed and finished on a standard cellulosic route with one class of reactive dyestuff, without the two-stage processes that polyester blends require.
Recommended Applications
Fine-count apparel — Fine shirting, silk-handle summer dresses, lightweight trousers, premium T-shirts, sun-protection overshirts and fine-gauge knitwear.
Home & next-to-skin — Bedding sets, loungewear and underwear fabrics where the combination of soft hand and abrasion resistance is required.
